Cooperation and partnership strategy for the enhancement of the education quality of the strategic master's Chemistry of Advanced Materials in line with Green Chemistry requirements
GreenCAM was a completed cooperation and partnership project between the University of Bucharest, Romania, and NTNU, funded through the EEA Grants (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway Grants), aimed at enhancing the quality of education in the strategic master's programme Chemistry of Advanced Materials in line with Green Chemistry principles.
The project applied Green Chemistry principles to the strategy of preparing and applying advanced materials — an approach well established in research but, at the time, still a pioneering step in education. GreenCAM was designed as a student-centred education project, built on sustained support from teaching staff responsive to student needs, close collaboration between students and teachers, and synergy between the partner institutions grounded in professional conduct, honesty, and transparency.
Key outputs of the project included an improved Chemistry of Advanced Materials master's curriculum combining traditional advanced materials chemistry with Green Chemistry approaches, along with dedicated electronic course materials. The collaboration also produced an e-book featuring jointly supervised (NTNU–University of Bucharest) master's theses, proceedings from an Intensive Study Programme, a special issue from the project's workshop series "Contemporary solutions for advanced materials with high impact on society," and peer-reviewed scientific papers based on original results generated through the partnership.
