Fostering Safety in Use of Advanced Nanomaterials in Health Sector: Indo-Norway Cooperation Program - 2 (INCP -2)

Funded by the Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills (HK-Dir) and the University Grants Commission (UGC).

This project brings together NTNU, IIT Madras, the Indian Institute of Science, and the Norwegian biotech startup Lybe Scientific to strengthen education, training, and translation in nanomedicine. The collaboration connects academic research, biotechnology innovation, and health-sector perspectives to support the development of future nanomedicine solutions.

A central aim of the project is to develop capacity-building programs for students and researchers, with emphasis on student-active learning, research-based education, and stronger connectivity across study programs. Through this approach, the project will help participants gain both theoretical knowledge and practical insight into nanomedicine research and commercialization.

The consortium will provide hands-on training using complementary expertise and infrastructure across the partner institutions. These activities will support students and researchers in understanding the scientific, technical, and translational steps required to move nanomedicine concepts toward real-world healthcare applications.

The project will also establish a platform for health policy discussions among stakeholders across the value chain, including academia, industry, and the health sector. By linking practice and theory, the collaboration aims to support responsible innovation and strengthen the bilateral research-commercialization ecosystem in nanomedicine.

Project activities will include semester exchanges, research stays, summer internships, workshops, seminars, conferences, and faculty visits. Through these activities, the project aims to build long-term international partnerships, enhance research-based education, and support the translation of nanomedicine technologies from laboratory research to healthcare impact.
